The Sumida River was a river running through the city of Tokyo in Japan. The headquarters of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation were located on the banks of the Sumida River. In 2103, two members of the anti–colonization cult known as the Earthsavers crashed their vehicle into the Sumida River following an unsuccessful attempt to kidnap Jenny Yutani, daughter of Weyland-Yutani CEO Hideo Yutani.
