Shortly before the launch of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation colony ship USCSS Covenant from Earth, chief terraformist Katherine Daniels mused that the vessel's destination of Origae-6 would be rich in dirt, including soil that could be worked by the farmers attached to the expedition. The conventional weapons testing pits at the Norcomm Ouragan Testing Facility on the Union of Progressive Peoples planet KOI-571.02 were packed with soil.
