Shane Black (born December 16, 1961) is an American screenwriter, director, producer and actor who wrote and directed the 2018 film The Predator. He also portrayed Hawkins in the 1987 film Predator. Notable films Black has directed include Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Iron Man 3 (2013) and The Nice Guys (2016). Other noteworthy films Black has appeared in include RoboCop 3 (1993), As Good as It Gets (1997), Monkeys (2007) and Swing State (2015).
Black is perhaps most famous for his high-profile action movie screenplays, of which he wrote several during the 1980s and 90s, most notably Lethal Weapon (1987), The Last Boy Scout (1991) and The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996).
