Ouarzazate was a locale situated in the northeastern corner of the Sahara on Earth. Located in the lee of the Atlas mountains, Ouarzazate was the site of a spaceport supplying Station Nine, an orbital support platform for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation colony ship USCSS Covenant. In 2103, two members of the anti-colonization cult known as the Earthsavers, Patrick Jord and Ilse Spaarder, hijacked a shuttle from Ouarzazate and attempted to use it to ram the Covenant; the attack was foiled, however.
