- "I just broke standard quarantine and allowed three unlicensed passengers aboard this station, so don't even think about getting pouty with me. Everyone's ass is on the line now."
- ―Hassan to Wascylewski (from Aliens: Dead Orbit)
Hassan was the Captain of the fuel depot Sphacteria orbiting the gas giant Pylos. He and his crewmates faced a Xenomorph infestation after an encounter with a mysterious vessel.
Hassan was taken by the fully grown creatures and cocooned in their hive.
Biography
Encounter with the unmarked vessel
- "We aren't leaving them, and no way are we dragging these tubes back to the shuttle, so let's just get this done. I don't want to be on this deathtrap any longer than I have to."
- ―Hassan (from Aliens: Dead Orbit)
After an unknown vessel approached the Sphacteria, Hassan attempted to make contact with the ship, to no success. Crewmember Park pointed out that the ship, an old company model, contained Hypersleep chambers and that the crew may still be in stasis. Rook was less than sure, speculating that they may have been "raiders" like the ones they had had to deal with last year. Ultimately, Hassan suggested that he, Wascylewski, Park, Harrow and Torrenson take the shuttle to the ship and investigate, whilst Rook remain on the station.
The crew boarded the ship and explored its dilapidated interior, with Hassan calling the ship a "deathtrap". Eventually, they came across the hypersleep chambers, containing three humans - twin males and a female. Hassan wished to open them up, though Torrenson advised against it. After Wascylewski tinkered with the system, Park flipped the switch to open the chambers, only for them to begin violently overheating due to the coolant tank being ruptured, burning those in the chambers alive.
The crew managed to break open the pods and evacuate the horribly charred victims back into the Sphacteria, where Harrow and Park were attempting treatment. Wascylewski promptly left with a bottle of alcohol. Hassan stopped him, citing that he can "get drunk on [his] own time" but now, he needed him to decipher the lone vessel's logs and see what he could find. Though Wassy was clearly annoyed at this, Hassan told him to stop pouting, as all of their careers were on the line now after Hassan had broken protocol.

Later, Wassy revealed to Hassan and the others that the ship's last entry had them exchanging supplies for Chinese Yuan, with only frontier colonies in desolate space still using the currency. Wassy deduced that if the crew initiated emergency procedures aboard the ship, then the vessel would have autopiloted them to the nearest corporate location, in this case, the Sphacteria. Additionally, he identified that the ship originally contained eight crewmembers, not three. Hassan was about to tell him to continue his analysis before Park called Hassan to the med bay. The whole crew rushed to the med bay where they witnessed Park and Harrow attempting to hold down the seizing twins, who have already been given a full dosage of sedatives. Hassan and the crew looked on in horror as the twins both birthed Chestbursters, that escaped into the depths of the ship.
Cocooned
- "First Rook, now the Captain. I doubt Hassan even saw it coming. Must've broke both of his fucking arms pulling him through that gate."
- ―Torrenson (from Aliens: Dead Orbit)

After an unknown period of time of searching for the two creatures, Hassan was suddenly snatched up into a ventilation shaft in front of Wassy, Park and Torrenson. It was later revealed that the Aliens had created a hive within the depths of the station and had cocooned him there. Wascylewski was also later taken, but managed to escape - he reluctantly left his Captain behind.
Hassan's subsequent fate is unknown, though it was likely he perished soon after Wassy's abandoning of him.
Personality and Traits
As with most of the other crewmembers of the Sphacteria, Hassan was a visibly tired individual who clearly disliked his boring life out in secluded space.
However, when things took a darker turn, and the crew encountered the three salvagers, Hassan showcased assertiveness and assumed responsibility for their subsequent safety.
Trivia
- Hassan bears a striking visual similarity with character Arthur Dallas, who in-turn, was Captain of the USCSS Nostromo. Additionally, his fate is also almost identical to the latter.
- Hassan is also the brand name of cork tip cigarettes from the early 20th century, much like the carton of Pachyderm cigarettes Wascylewski smokes throughout the story.
