The Fulfremmen—Anglo-Saxon for "The Perfected"—were a race of genetically–engineered humanoids. Created by the alien species known as the Engineers, the Fulfremmen sought to perpetuate themselves and their programmed definition of "perfection" by spreading Proto-Hives across the cosmos. Human contact with the Perfected led to a number of incidents.
History
Creation
The Perfected were a race of humanoids created by the Engineers by way of a dangerous pathogen in the latter's quest to reproduce a species of alien creature dubbed the "Destroying Angel", and were one of several such results of the requisite experiments, including humans, Xenomorphs, and the Arcturians. However, the Perfected ran rampant, loosing living Proto-Hives and Proto-Xenomorphs on their creators in an effort to "perfect" everything in their path. In a bid to expunge the Perfected, the Engineers destroyed scores of their own colonies and worlds. In the resulting war, the Perfected and the Engineers virtually wiped out each other, and what few Perfected survived the conflict went into hibernation. The Engineers, meanwhile, used a device dubbed the Lychgate to flee known space, lamenting the Perfected as their "ungrateful children".
Reanimation
In the early 2100s, several human colonies discovered Proto–Hives on a number of worlds in what was now the Far Spinward Colonies; those worlds soon fell to the revived Perfected, who sought to resume their mission. Thereabouts, the exploratory vessel USCSS Cronus discovered the Engineer pathogen on LV-1113, with experimentation resulting in an altered strain capable of transforming humans into the Perfected. The Cronus was lost amid the subsequent destruction of LV–1113, and its lifeboat the Cheiron was trapped in a stellar anomaly later dubbed the Ablassen Black Hole, where it lay undiscovered for decades.
Perfection
In 2185, the Cheiron was retrieved from the black hole by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation mining station Erebos, and the Perfected attacked the facility with a view to converting it into a living organism. The Perfected were successful in this endeavor, using the now–living station to create a menagerie of Proto–Xenomorphs.
Subsequently, the Perfected located the Lychgate, and planned to use the structure to lure in human ships. In the interim, the Engineer–worshiping cult dubbed the Children of the Two Divines made contact with the Perfected and provided them with a clutch of Xenomorph eggs; these were planted aboard the Lychgate and used to create a Hive for human infection. The Perfected targeted the United Nations Interstellar Settlement Corps colony ship UNCSS Ìyánlá, and attempted to take control of it in a bid to travel to inhabited space.
