LV–1113 was a small planetoid located in the 26 Draconis System 46 light–years Spinward from Earth.[1]
History
Located in a planetary debris belt between its three stars, LV–1113 was once used as a weapon testing ground by the alien race dubbed the Engineers; however, they left without a trace, leaving their installations behind. In 2111, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation science ship USCSS Cronus landed on LV–1113 in search for samples of a mysterious Engineer bioweapon. During their investigation, Doctor Daniel Cooper's science team discovered that the planet's lifeforms had mutated due to the presence of the pathogen. The team took samples of the chemical outside and gained access to an Engineer structure, where they found several mysterious urns; these were brought back to the ship. After an outbreak on the Cronus caused by several members being infected by dangerous spores and a resultant mutiny, the science pod Cheiron was ejected onto the surface as the Cronus escaped LV–1113.[2] However, after the Cronus departed, the survivors left stranded on the planet accidentally activated an Engineer technology that caused the nearby red dwarf star, Gliese 685, to collapse on itself and become a black hole. The planet was trapped in the black hole's accretion disc and was progressively torn apart,[3] leaving only a chunk of the planet named Asteroid 1113B and the Cheiron, which survived the planet's destruction.[4]
Flora and fauna
LV-1113's fauna was altered due to a pathogenic deployment.[2]
Climate and terrain
The atmosphere on LV–1113 was breathable.[2]
Points of interest
Several Engineer structures were located on LV–1113, one of which contained a device capable of destabilizing stars.[2]
