Xiao[nb 1] was a masterful martial artist trained in the Earth Kingdom by pacifist monks before they were threatened by the Fire Nation during the Hundred Year War.[2]
History
Xiao grew up with a group of pacifist monks in a remote Earth Kingdom village. The monks loved Xiao and never forced them to be anything they didn't want to be, so when Xiao came of age, they decided to become a warrior.
Their extraordinary skill with martial arts came from raw talent and rebuffing countless Fire Nation attacks on their small village during the later stages of the Hundred Year War, as their village rested right next to a valuable ore deposit. Xiao saw their inability to prevent the Fire Nation from taking over the village as their biggest failure.[1]
Xiao ended up in a team of resistance fighters that included Xinyi, Nalu, Lana, and Zimo. They traveled with their new friends with the aim of eventually liberating their home from the Fire Nation.[1] Eventually, the group was hired by Long Feng's spy network to escort a Fire Nation defector, General Onomu, to Ba Sing Se so that she could deliver important war plans.[3]
Personality
Xiao was both curious and proud as a person.[1]
Abilities
Xiao was an expert martial artist who possessed incredible raw talent as well as experience. They fought hand-to-hand with many throws, dodges, and counters.
