Lana was a warrior and spiritual healer from the Southern Water Tribe who was well-versed in using herbs and tinctures to aid others. During the Hundred Year War, he ran away from home to use his abilities for good.[1]
History
Lana was a warrior and spiritual healer from the Southern Water Tribe who spent his entire life cooped up with his village elders, learning the herbs and techniques used to soothe all manner of spiritual ailments. He expected to join his father and aid the fighters in the war against the Fire Nation, but he was forbidden from joining the fleet because Lana's abilities were already too rare to be risked.
Lana ran away from home because he wanted his art to do some good in the world, such as aiding the rebellion in the Earth Kingdom. He made friends with a group of other rebels: Xinyi, Nalu, Zimo, and Xiao.[2] Eventually, the group was hired by Long Feng's spy network to escort a Fire Nation defector, General Onomu, to Ba Sing Se so that she could deliver important war plans.[3]
Personality
Lana could be playful and naive.[2] Although he was a healer, he had a fighter's spirit.[2]
Abilities
Lana was an expert healer, especially in dealing with spiritual ailments. He could also use his skills in an offensive manner, and used concoctions and powders to hinder his enemies. He was skilled at creating strategic walls of defense during fights.[2]
