The Flying Carpet is a synthesized item in Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland. In Atelier Totori it is considered an item while in Atelier Meruru it is considered a piece of equipment.
Atelier Totori
- "A flying carpet. For some reason, it doesn't move when the owner is healthy. When everyone is defeated in battle, it'll whisk you away to safety."
- — Atelier Totori description
When synthesized and put into Totori's basket, the Flying Carpet acts as an emergency escape when KO'd in battle. If the player is KO'd in battle, the Flying Carpet will bring you back to the start of the area instead of sending you back to the workshop. This saves the player time, as being sent back to the workshop will cost about a week in game time.
The Flying Carpet has infinite uses, but can only be used if it is in Totori's basket. When revived, your party members will only have 1HP, so plan your next move carefully!
Atelier Meruru
The Flying Carpet is considered a piece of Development Equipment, and so it can be equipped and carried on to each play through with New Game +.
It's function and effects are the same as they are in Atelier Totori. If your party members are KO'd in battle, you will be teleported to the beginning of the area, and your party members still revive with 1HP.
