Xellos (ゼロス Zerosu?), also spelled Xelloss, is the priest of Greater Beast Zelas Metallium in the Slayers series who makes a cameo appearance in Tales of the Rays.
Appearance and Personality
The mystery that surrounds this character leaves many people guessing about what his intentions really are, exactly how loyal he is, and what relationship does he truly have with the other main characters. Opinions vary greatly from the "heartless mazoku" to the "benign trickster". Although these extremities usually ignore some canon facts, less radical members of both sides are able to point out sufficient evidence to support their theory. This is made possible by the fact that Xelloss' actions can be interpreted in numerous ways; what he says is often at odds with what he does, and what he seems to do often appears at odds with the final outcome.
Fighting Style
In Tales of the Rays, Xellos fights with his staff, using spells without needing time to cast, similar to Shizel. His mirrage arte is Checkmate desu.
Trivia
- In Tales of the Rays, Xellos is referred to as "Beast Priest Xellos" (獣神官 ゼロス Juushinkan Zerosu?) to differentiate him from Zelos Wilder, whose given name is written the same way in Japanese.
