Ishrantu (イシュラント Ishuranto?) is a minor antagonist in Tales of Phantasia and supporting character in Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon.

History

Tales of Phantasia

Ishrantu is a demon serving under Dhaos, leading both his ground forces and air units during the Valhalla War. Despite being a wyvern-like demon, he is capable of speaking human language. Ishrantu is first encountered in a battle on the ground but forced to retreat, only later to be killed by Cress Albane and Arche Klein in an aerial battle.

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon

In his Narikiri Dungeon appearance, Ishrantu is the guardian of Jotunheim, the land of giants, and gives Dio and Mel the "Fortune" upon being bested in battle.

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X

In Narikiri Dungeon X, Ishrantu appears as the embodiment of the wrath of the many victims killed by Dios Bandi.

Ishrantu generally takes the appearance of a dragon made of limestone. In the original Super Famicom version of the game, his body is similar to a snake with two hands.

Fighting Style

Throughout his appearances, Ishrantu relies on breathing fireballs and attacking with his claws.

Originally, Ishrantu relies on magic artes Thunder Blade and Fire Storm in almost all of the Phantasia appearances, and Storm, Cyclone, and Tempest in Narikiri Dungeon.

In Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, he trades his spell list for purely physical attacks.

Other Appearances

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

In Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Ishrantu appears as one of the ultimate "Fire Drake" monsters that can be evolved into if a "Bright Flame" statue is equipped to a "Wyvern" at level 34.
