St. Roch is a neighborhood in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Overview
Education
- St. Roch University: A university and former workplace of Aldus Boardman.[1]
History
It was the place in which the Firestorm, consisting of Jefferson Jackson and Martin Stein first exhibited their power of transmutation into the conjoined meta-human.[1]
Kendra Saunders was in St. Roch with Carter Hall when her ex, Cisco Ramon, attempted to contact her in a drunken stupor. Realising what he had done, Cisco enlisted Barry Allen's help to delete the evidence from her phone discreetly, which was done without her ever realizing.[2]
On October 17, 1975, Rip Hunter's team, the Legends, travelled to St. Roch University to visit Professor Aldus Boardman hours before his death in order to investigate Vandal Savage. In doing so, the team learned that two of their members, Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall, were reincarnations following their Egyptian counterparts' deaths at the hands of Hath-Set. It was also revealed that their 1920s counterparts were his parents. He later died that same day with Kendra and Carter at his side.[1]

It is also one of the places that, a part of the Legends team consisting of Kendra, Carter's reincarnation Scythian Torvil and Rip Hunter were present at when taking down Vandal Savage in 2021 while other members of the team were trying to take Vandal down throughout different timestreams. For this particular version, the 2021 Vandal was electrocuted against a generator (apparently owned by Central City Utility Corp) atop a skyscraper, which released an energy blast throughout the surroundings of New Orleans.[3] Despite Vandal's death, the Thanagarian meteor could not be shrunk or transmuted as with the other two.
However, After the Legends successfully killed Vandal Savage in each time period, a third Nth metal meteor was still set to go off, causing the world to be destroyed. Rip Hunter planned to sacrifice himself by flying the meteor into the Sun, destroying the meteor inside the Waverider. He flew it toward the Sun and passed out before waking up and finding the meteor destroyed. The Waverider then had one last time jump, which Rip used to return to 2021 St. Roch and get the rest of the team.[4][5]

Behind the scenes
- In real life, St. Roch is indeed a neighborhood in the U.S. city of New Orleans, located in the Bywater district. However, the supposed 'downtown' shot, set in 2021, is actually one of Vancouver's skyline.
- In addition, St. Roch is also the name of a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana and the home of Hawkman. It debuted in Hawkman #1 (May, 2002).
