Vanish is the up special move of Sheik throughout the Super Smash Bros. series. The move first appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee and returns in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Overview
When using Vanish, Sheik throws a Deku Nut onto the ground and vanishes, a behavior originating from Ocarina of Time. Shortly afterward, Sheik reappears elsewhere on the stage, the location being dependent on which direction is held on the Control Stick. If Sheik uses Vanish in the air, she leaps up a little before vanishing. As of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, opponents can be damaged from the Deku Nut explosion and Sheik reappearing.
Vanish has two custom variants in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U only: Gale, which increases the speed of the warp but removes the explosion, making the move incapable of damaging, and Abyss, which knocks any opponents hit into the air, meteor smashing them, although Abyss is slower than Vanish.
