OoA and OoS
I remeber distinctly, despite only borrowing the games and not owning them, that in OoA and OoS, for more valuble rupees found in the ground with the shovel, size could denote value, as I dug up a very large rupee that gave me 100 rupees... - Yeah, I've dug up this Rupee several times (heck, I make it my priority when I need money fast). I checked the article and, you're right, it's not mentioned at all. Legend of Zelda Yellow Rupee
Alright, so the article states in the "Yellow Rupee" subdivision that its premire was as the lowest value Rupee in the original The Legend of Zelda. However, the game's sprite for said Rupee is a Rupee that flashes blue and orange, neither of which are yellow. So what change needs to be made here? --Ando (T : C) 20:35, 25 March 2008 (EDT)
I'm going to quote what my manual for LoZ says word for word. note the spelling and color names: Rubies are the money used in this kingdom. They sometimes appear when Link disposes of the enemy. If Link collects enough of them, he can buy treasure from the merchant. Blue rubies are worth five times more than yellow ones. In all Link can own up to 255 yellow rubies, and he may use them in any way he likes. This is the original NES manual. I have no idea what the difference is from the GBA one. What spelled them as 'rupy' as stated on the page?Axiomist 19:34, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

- Well right now I'm looking for images from the games. Would sprites or official artwork (for games that have it) work better? Also I found this on Zelda.com's encyclopedia - "The Royal Family introduced the Rupee to Hyrule after severe storms ruined the crops of many farmers." I don't know how true this is since a lot of the stuff on their is made-up. 19:30, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Trivia
In the trivia it mentions that there are two huge rupees. One is yellow, but it also appears in OoT where it is called Huge Rupee, instead of Yellow Rupee. Should I add this to the lists and take out/modify the trivia? Triforce (T C) 01:09, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Rupee Value Summary chart
You forgot to include the Huge Rupee from OoT and MM. It was yellow/gold, so you could add it under the BGold section.
Also, I'm pretty sure it was a Big Orange Rupee in MM, just like in OoT, not a Big Red one. Triforce (T C) 00:34, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

New Reorganzation
As the "by game" article layout is slowly eradicating itself across the wiki due to redundancy and amateur-like aesthetics, I believe this article's layout should be changed as a part of this revolution in professionalism. Instead of the "game-focused" layout, I say we reorganize this article by denomination. This is not a reorganzation by color, which in my opinion, failed as well as a layout option due to confusion between different denominations between games. This way we will not only capture all of the different rupee groups under their standard amounts, but we will be able to sub-label the rupees with the game they appear in, for the easiest navigation and relationships between like rupees between games. The text says "A Green Rupee and a wallet from Twilight Princess" where the image quite clearly shows a yellow rupee.

Rupees in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
I'm not certain there really should be a listing for both a "huge rupee" and an "orange rupee" for either of those games. I'm pretty certain the huge and orange rupee are in actuality one in the same (despite the gold/orange color discrepancy of holding the "rupee over Link's head" animation compared to just picking it up off the ground without the animation). The most telling feature that the orange and huge rupee are indeed one in the same is the fact that the orange rupee when on the ground, unlike any other color rupees when on the ground, is nearly the size of adult Link's entire body (hence the name huge rupee). Another one that is bit ambiguous is the silver rupee. In Majora's Mask they are 100% indeed silver rupees (as they are called so when you pick them up). However in Ocarina of Time (despite being the same exact rupee color as Majora's Mask) they are of a different value (currency wise), never referenced by name in game as being a "silver rupee", and when they are loosely referenced (in the pop up messages about grabbing them to solve the puzzles) they are always referred to as "jewels of white". So I am wondering, while it should definitely be called silver rupee for Majora's Mask, maybe the one in Ocarina of Time should in fact be called a white rupee.Lord Malakite (talk) 20:42, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
Breath of the Wild - Grass

In the CD-i games, they use rubies. in the section about rubies though, they use the terms interchangeably. what's going on
