Leop

Leop is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Biography

Leop is an older Hylian who lives in Hateno Village. He diligently stands outside The Great Ton Pu Inn, welcoming visitors and imploring them to stay.[2] He can be found at the base of the Inn's stairs at most hours of the day and night, greeting Link if he approaches.[3][4] However, Leop will retreat inside if it begins to Rain.[5][6]

According to Leop, The Great Ton Pu Inn is the best place in Hateno Village to rest.[7] He suggests travelers speak with Prima, the Inn's proprietor, if they wish to stay.[8] When spoken to again, he will encourage Link to spend some time at the Inn.[9][10]

When Link speaks to Leop while carrying the Blue Flame, he asks if Purah is unable to get around on her own anymore.[11] Realizing he has not seen Purah in some time, he wonders if the rumors he heard about her are true.[12] If Link confirms that Purah is doing well, Leop will be relieved, as the people in Hateno Village tend to get worried easily.[13] Alternatively, if Link has difficulty answering him, Leop shares the rumor that Purah's granddaughter has been visiting her, believing Link to have given it away.[14] He is unable to think of any other reason that a child would be staying at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.[15]
