Prince Rogers Nelson † (June 7, 1958 - April 21, 2016 [aged 57])[2] was an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and dancer.[2] He is estimated to have written hundreds of songs.[3]
Prince’s hit songs "Purple Rain", "When Doves Cry", "Kiss", "Raspberry Beret", and "Little Red Corvette" are just a small sample of his revolutionary blend of rock, funk, R&B and new wave pop that shattered barriers and empowered millions. In the 1980s, Prince made history by being one of the first black artists to have their videos in heavy rotation on MTV.[4]
Prince's official YouTube channel was created in 2014. It was created to celebrate the life, creative works and enduring legacy of him and his music. Following Prince's death, the channel became managed by his estate.[1] The channel includes music videos, performance clips, official Prince playlists, announcements, and more.[5][6][7][8]

Trivia
- Prior to his death in April 21, 2016, audios of (or featuring) his songs were almost impossible to be found online. Prince had done this since he barely earned enough money from online music sales.[10]
- The popular manga and anime series, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, has many references dedicated to him.[11]
