Niall James Horan (born September 13, 1993 (1993-09-13) [age 31]) is an Irish singer and songwriter. He rose to prominence as a member of the English-Irish boy band One Direction, formed in 2010 on the British singing competition The X Factor. The group released five albums and went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time.[1]

Solo career

After the band went on hiatus in 2016, Niall signed a recording contract with Capitol Records as a solo artist.[2]

On 29 September 2016, Niall released his debut solo single "This Town".[3] Since its release, it has peaked at number 9 on the UK Singles Chart and number 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 4 May 2017, Niall released his second solo single "Slow Hands".[4] It also entered the top 10 in the UK and the top 20 in the US.

Niall revealed that he had gotten in touch with Maren Morris to get her to sing on his song "Seeing Blind".[5] He performed "On My Own" for the first time at Dublin's Olympia Theatre in August. "Too Much to Ask," Niall's third single from the album, was relesed on September 15, 2017.

On October 20, 2017, Niall's debut solo album Flicker was released, and it immediately peaked in the Billboard 200. Additionally, it peaked at number one in the Netherlands and Ireland.

On October 4, 2019, the lead single from Niall's second album, "Nice to Meet Ya," was released.

The album's second single, "Put a Little Love on Me," was released on December 6, 2019. On February 7, 2020, Niall made available the third single, "No Judgement," along with revealing that the album's name is Heartbreak Weather and that the release date is March 13, 2020.

Niall co-wrote a new version of Ashe's song, "Moral of the Story", which was released in June 2020.

On 21 May 2021, Horan and English singer Anne-Marie released "Our Song", for Anne Marie's album Therapy.[6]
