Meghan Elizabeth Trainor (born: December 22, 1993 (1993-12-22) [age 31]) is an American singer-songwriter and record producer.[1]

Early life & Career

Born and raised in Nantucket, Massachusetts, Meghan Trainor wrote, recorded, performed and produced three independently-released albums between ages 15 and 17. In 2011, she signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music, and pursued a career in songwriting.

After signing a record deal with Epic Records in 2014, Trainor rose to fame with the release of major-label debut studio album, Title (2015). The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and produced four top 20 singles: "All About That Bass",[2] "Lips Are Movin",[3] "Dear Future Husband",[4] and "Like I'm Gonna Lose You (featuring John Legend)".[5] Later certified platinum by the RIAA, the record passed one million sales domestically.[6]

Prominently influenced by the 1950s and 1960s eras in music, Trainor's music has been noted for its retro style aesthetic. [7]Common themes in her lyrics include subjects of modern womanhood, body image, and empowerment.[8] Trainor's work has been recognized with several awards and nominations, including the Music Business Association's Breakthrough Artist of the Year accolade, she won two Billboard Music Awards in 2015 and a Grammy in 2016.

Personal life

Trainor started dating actor Daryl Sabara in July 2016.[9] The couple got engaged on December 22, 2017, and tied the knot a year later on Trainor's 25th birthday. Together they have two sons in 2021[10] and 2023.[11]

The Guardian's Caroline Sullivan called Trainor "the poster girl for the bigger woman" and "pop's poster girl for self-acceptance". [19][20]

Billboard placed her on its list of "14 Musicians With Body Positive Messages".[21] Trainor became a consultant for plus-size clothing retailer FullBeauty Brands in March 2015 to design clothing for women of different body types. [22]
