Formula One, or simply F1, is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars. F1 debuted in 1950 and is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, a prominent French motorsports association.

About

F1 uses a point system, one for the drivers and one for the maintenance team. Only drivers and maintenance teams with the highest class of license can compete in F1. The tracks used for F1 likewise can only be the highest grade. F1 seasons are made of multiple races around the world, known as Grands Prix.

F1 cars are the fastest regulated legal racing cars in the world, and are solely manufactured by the most powerful and wealthy car companies in the word like Ferrari, Mercedes, and Renault. Due to the high costs of F1 racing and its involvement with multiple corporations, it has been associated with the rich and powerful since the beginning, often being referred to as a "billionaire's club". This association has also lead to political controversies over the decades. F1 is also popular with middle and lower class individuals, and is widely considered one of the most popular forms of high-level motorsport racing.
