Deen TheGreat

Nurideen Shahid Shabazz (born: October 5, 2000 (2000-10-05) [age 24])^{[citation needed]}, better known online as Deen TheGreat, is an American^{[citation needed]} YouTuber and professional boxer^{[citation needed]}.

Early life

Deen was born on October 5, 2000 in Tampa, Florida.^{[citation needed]} He is a Muslim^{[citation needed]}.

History

Deen started his YouTube channel on November 27, 2013. Deen would make boxing contact in his YouTube channel, training with YouTuber FOUSEY and professional boxer Anthony "PrettyBoy" Taylor.^{[citation needed]}

Boxing career

Deen the Great vs. Evil Hero

On 22 July 2022, it was announced that Deen the Great will be making his boxing debut against American TikTok star Evil Hero on the undercard of MF & DAZN: X Series 001: KSI vs. Swarmz and KSI vs. Luis Alcaraz Pineda at the O2 Arena in London, England on 27 August 2022.^[1] On the night at the event, Deen didn't waste a lot of time with Evil Hero. Deen was sharp from the outset and looked like he's actually been in the ring before. A trio of knockdown in the first round overwhelmed Evil Hero and led to the stoppage and becoming the ICB North American walterweight champion. In his celebration, Deen would attempt a backflip that didn't quite get the rotation he needed.^[2]

Deen the Great vs. Walid Sharks

On 21 October, 2022, it was announced that Deen the Great will be fighting Iraqi TikTok star Walid Sharks in the co-main event of MF & DAZN: X Series 003: Hasim Rahman Jr. vs. Vitor Belfort at Moody Center in Austin, Texas on 19 November 2022.^[3] However, Deen vs Walid Sharks was then promoted as the headline bout of MF & DAZN: X Series 003.^[4] On the night at the event, Deen defeated Walid Sharks in technical knockout in the 3rd round becoming the ICB World super featherweight title.^[5]

Deen the Great vs. Pully Arif

On January 27 2023, it was announced that Deen the Great will fight English TikTok star Pully Arif in the co-main event of Misfits x DAZN X Series 005: Jay Swingler vs. NichLmao at Telford International Centre in Telford, England on 4 March 2023.^[6] On 20 February, it was announced that Deen had signed a multi-fight deal with Misfits Boxing.^[7] On the night of the fight, Deen defeated Arif via unanimous decision despite harbouring two shoulder injuries, dropping Arif in the third round in his first title defence. Deen then proceeded to call out Walid Sharks and Adam Saleh.^[8]

Deen the Great & Walid Sharks vs. YPG! (YuddyGangTV & Ayye Pap)

On 14 June, it was announced that Deen will compete in a tag team boxing match on the undercard of MF & DAZN X Series 008: Survivor Tag at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, US. on 22 July. Deen will team with Filipino boxer Lil Cracra and their team name is 'Street Fighter 2'. Their opponents are American mixed martial artist Kevin Ferguson Jr. and Nigerian YouTuber OJ ROSÉ named as 'The Chop Shop'.^[9] On June 28, it was announced that Deen will now team up with a mystery partner to take on American TikToker YuddyGangTV and American YouTuber Ayye Pap.^[10] On July 20, Deen's partner was revealed to be Iraqi TikToker and rival Walid Sharks.^[11] They won via unanimous decision, with judges' scorecards of 40-36 (twice) and 39-37 all in their favor. Right after the final bell, Deen and Walid turn on each other as the ring fills up to break up their fight after the fight.^[12]

Deen the Great vs. Walid Sharks II

In April 2023, Deen posted on Twitter that he wants the rematch with Iraqi Golden Gloves champion Walid Sharks in his hometown of Tampa, Florida.^[13] Happy Punch Promotions posted on Twitter confirming that the Deen vs Walid rematch is happening in Tampa, Florida in Summer 2023.^[14] In September 2023, Deen called out Sharks' manger for declining a rematch and claims they’re going back to the amateurs.^[15] Sharks' manager has denied ever being in contact with Deen.^[16] In an interview with ES News, Deen revealed he has an fight announcement coming on this week.^[17]

On September 5, it was announced that Deen will rematch Sharks for the Misfits Lightweight Championship on the undercard of the MF & DAZN: X Series 10 – The Prime Card at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England on October 14, 2023.^[18] On the night of the fight, Deen defeated Sharks via unanimous decision with the judges scorecards of 49-44 (twice) and 48-45 all in his favor.^[19]

Deen the Great vs. Dave Fogarty

On June 30, 2024, it was announced that Deen will face Irish internet personality Dave Fogarty for the Misfits Lightweight Championship on the undercard of the MF & DAZN: X Series 17 on August 31, 2024 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.^[20] On the night of the fight, Deen defeated Fogarty via 3rd round technical knockout.^[21]

Deen the Great vs. Lil Cracra

During his second fight with Walid Sharks, Deen suffered a dislocated shoulder after an overshot of a punch.^[22] Misfits announced an eight man tournament to determine the MFB interim lightweight champion, where the winner will face Deen and unify the MFB lightweight titles.^[23] On March 23, Deen confronted he is officially cleared to fight and will face the winner of the MFB interim lightweight champion.^[24]

On November 28 at MF & DAZN: X Series 19 – Qatar: The Supercard, Filipino YouTuber Lil Cracra defeated American TikToker YuddyGangTV in the MFB lightweight tournament and will face Deen on the undercard of MF & DAZN: X Series 20 - Tommy Fury vs. Darren Till on January 18, 2025 at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England.^[25]
