Ladies and Defaults...

―Ceeday's Intro

William Wilson (born: May 16, 1998 (1998-05-16) [age 26]), better known online as Ceeday (formerly Ceedaygaming), is an American YouTuber and gamer known for his comedic Fortnite: Battle Royale videos. His most well-known type of Fortnite videos are about "Default Skins" (the recruit that is automatically given to every player, or the default skin, hence the name) where he trolls those players, helps players and occasionally pretends to be one of the players due to their passive, unskilled, yet comedic nature. Many of his 'default skin' videos are currently the most notable videos on his channel.

William is also known for doing challenges in Fortnite to add twists and challenging things to do in-game. He usually does challenges that involve new weapons, usually a challenge to hold the max of five of the same new weapon at once.

William is notably the most popular Fortnite YouTuber when it comes to his video views, gaining over at least 6 - 8 million views per video on average. He is often number one on trending for gaming whenever he uploads a new video.

History

William created his channel on October 26, 2014, but did not start uploading until April 2016. His appearance was Ceedaygaming and started out by doing multiple montages and gameplays on Destiny. He then just did normal gaming videos on Destiny and sometimes other games. In 2017, he started to edit his gaming videos to make them funny, many with the use of sound effects that are commonly classified as "Ceeday sound effects" even though he didn't create the sound effects. That's just how popular and funny his videos were. This did rack up around 80,000 subscribers before he began making and editing funny videos (again, with the sound effects) inside Fortnite. Because Fortnite was an overwhelmingly popular and rising game, his videos naturally gained more views, and in just months he had gone from 100,000 to 2 million subscribers in just a few months.

Account Deletion

In late-May of 2018, William had mentioned that he was getting lag spikes in his Fortnite gameplay. The problem was he had too many friend requests sent to his account. William did not turn on the 'Auto-Decline Friend Request' setting, until he found out about it. When he turned it on, he could not access his account, and had no other choice but to delete the account.[1]

William had lost his progress, all the outfits he purchased, his favorite outfit Raptor, Raptor's Back Bling and the Disco Pickaxe.

William got his Disco Pickaxe back in early-June 2018 and got his Raptor outfit along with the Back Bling returned mid-June.

Hiatuses

First Hiatus

William had not uploaded for nearly a month (July 8, 2018 - August 7, 2018). His last video was "5 DRUM GUNS 1 Ceeday", and hasn't uploaded since. William announced on his Community Tab that he is moving houses. Many people claim it doesn't take weeks to move houses.[2]

On August 7, 2018. William uploaded a video "I SURVIVED LIGMA" explaining in the video about him moving houses, and said that there was a lot of messing up while on the process of moving. He then explained that he will now be able to upload again.

Second Hiatus

William had went on to another but longer hiatus since March 13, 2019 and has not uploaded a video since. His last video is currently "Y'all mind if I Season 8", which he makes a normal Fortnite video on Fortnite's new season that occurs every 2 months. Somewhere in 2019, William claimed he was no longer going to upload monthly, but had not uploaded as much as he did in Early to Mid-2018. He made a return on May 2, 2019 uploading a video on Fortnite's collaboration with Avengers, playing the gamemode "Endgame" (same name as the Movie itself).

Third Hiatus

William had volunteered in 2 Friday Fortnites, created by Keemstar. William has livestreamed during the time he was playing (On May 31 and June 7), and had not been active ever since. Technically, Ceeday has not uploaded a comedic gaming video as usual since May 22, 2019 which is "FeMalE RApTor", but his last known activity on his channel was the Friday Fortnite streams, where William was duo partners with NoahsNoah getting the most eliminations from another duo they were faced.

On July 5, LazarBeam mentioned to William asking for another Ceeweek.[3] 4 hours after that video was released, William replied on his Instagram stating "My time has come"[4]

William made a return on July 23, making a video called "TAC ON CRAC"[5], a video on Fortnite's Legendary and Epic variant Tactical Shotgun that was released recently when the video was released. William claims he will try his best to get back to uploading more consistently as showing his SocialBlade statistics with negatives seen on several days. William also decided to take down the 2 Friday Fortnite streams.

Fourth Hiatus

William uploaded 3 days in a row. Since then, he has been ive and has not uploaded for 3 months. His last video was "MINECRAFT on LEAN". The reason for his hiatus is currently unknown. This was the start of William's subscriber count declining.

On William's Instagram story, he has been counting down by one number per day, which could mean the countdown to Christmas, or him uploading again.[6] On December 24, William posted on his Instagram story that he was in fact planning to upload a new video the next day, but can't because of issues with his computer. He continued in the same post that he will spend Christmas day to record a new video so his fans will get a new video sometime in January of 2020.[7]

William scheduled his video to be uploaded on January 1, 2020 at 12 AM, the time the new year ball drop takes place in New York, and has uploaded Lightsaber Rewind 2020.[8]

Fifth Hiatus

William uploaded 5 videos in the span of 6 days, and then stopped uploading consistently. The last video, Mythical Ceeday, was uploaded on February 24, 2020. This has been recorded as his longest hiatus. On December 1, 2020, William live streamed Fortnite's Galactus event. On December 25, 2021, William posted on instagram, teasing his return for Chapter 3 of Fortnite.

For the first time in 21 months, William returned to YouTube and uploaded Chapter 3: No Way Home, uploaded on December 25, 2021. William claimed he had lost interest in uploading videos due to the current state of Fortnite and the conditions around the world.

Ceeweek

After surpassing 4 million subscribers, William announced on his community dashboard that he would post Monday - Friday (October 22 - October 27, 2018)[9]. After Ceeweek was successful and finished, William claimed he "almost folded (given up) about 27 times [that] week."[10]

Rivalry

Ceeday vs Tfue

Ceeday vs Tfue - Tfue's Comment

Turner "Tfue" Tenney, one of the most well known Fortnite streamers in the community, once called out William for a 1v1 and said he would "use a pickaxe only" Turner said.

William made a video response, starting off by 'roasting' Turner's duo partner Symfuhny, and then Ceeday responds with an image of Turner at the center of the crosshairs in the "Killshot" image originally made by Eminem.

William says (in a sarcastic way) that he can't believe he had to come out of "hibernation" (since his upload schedule was quite inconsistent at the time) to "fight a default skin" (which Turner is known to be in Fortnite).

"Do you know who I am?" William says. "I am a proud owner of the best pickaxe in the game".

William accepts Turner's challenge and asks for a date to begin the 1v1.

Additionally, William's main Raptor made a return after using the Deep Breeze Bundle.

Turner reacted and responded to William, and made a comment saying "BRING IT ON!!!". However, William was unable to do the 1v1 because Turner's comment wasn't a date and time.

Ceeday vs NoahsNoah

William and Noah "NoahsNoah" are both highly known for their comedic gameplays on Fortnite.

Noah wanted to start a trend, much like MaximilianMus's 'Oh Yeah Yeah' spam, Noah asked all his fans to change their profile picture to a photoshopped stretched recruit from Fortnite (often called "Craig") and comment 'Oh No No' in the comments section. NoahsNoah showed an example on William's comment section of his latest video.

William responded to that with the video 'SMASH CODE CEEDAY', telling all of William's fans to comment 'Use Code Ceedayy' (William's Support-A-Creator code). It was successful on William's part.

NoahsNoah then made a response called 'Message to Ceeday', parodying what William did when he created the video 'Message to Tfue'. Noah made a picture of William in the 'KILLSHOT' image originally by Eminem.

Noah told William that there will be 3 rounds. One will be a standard one versus one against each other. The second will be a pickaxe battle, but was unsure what the 3rd round will be, and let William decide on that.

Noah gave William a full week to respond, "or it's an automatic L". And William responded 2 days later with the video 'My Response', and wants to make sure Noah doesn't run away "like Tfue did". William says the 3rd round will be a duo game, but the challenge is to get the most kills by themselves.

William says whoever loses the game has to promote the enemies Support-A-Creator code for a video. William scheduled the 1v1 to be on February 23, 2019. However, there were multiple hiatuses and confusions on what had happen to the Ceeday vs NoahsNoah event, as the event never happened. Unfortunately, William announced on March 13 that the event will not happen due to different time zones between each other.

Ceeday's inactivity

After a two year hiatus from social media Ceeday states that with the world being in chaos the last couple of years he did not think of uploading. He also stated that he will not be quiting youtube until he reached 10 million subscribers. Ceeday uploaded a video titled " Chapter 3 No Way Home" on christmas of 2021, In this video he apologies for no uploading in two years.

Channel Blackout

On December 31, 2018, William's YouTube channel was entirely blacked out (plain black profile picture and banner)[11]. Multiple theories came in claiming that some things might have happened to William and / or William's channel.

  • William might have gotten hacked. (Which most likely isn't the case because there would be inaproppriate content posted on William's channel)
  • William purposely blacked out his channel due to depression or stress.
  • William purposely blacked out his channel for other reasons.

Many other people claimed William did black out his channel because hackers upload inappropriate videos to take down a channel, which did not happen onto William's channel. Additionally, William was again inactive in uploading.

Announcement

On January 7, 2019, William made an announcement on his community tab that William himself blacked out his channel, and the blackout was supposed to last 1 day (December 31 - January 1) to create a new revamp for 2019. However the blackout lasted up to a week because of a road trip that took William away from uploading or having the time to revamp his YouTube channel.[12]

Changes

On January 10, 2019, William made his second video showing his face and an announcement that he has changed his profile picture due to his other one being related to Destiny, which was a game he played before Fortnite, to a new logo with 2 C's next to each other. He also made merch along the way and done his first face-cam video.[13]

Switching to Fall Guys

On August 27, 2020, William announced he will be making his final Fortnite video and make a switch his content creating a new popular game Fall Guys.[14] The switch did not occur after William's 21 month-long hiatus from uploading YouTube videos.
