Meteor (Japanese: メテオ Meteo) is the theme song of M06, which is also used in the ending credits. It was sung by Japanese duo Pink Lady, and was written and produced by NayutalieN.
Background
When Akihiro Hino asked music producer NayutalieN to create a theme song for the sixth movie, NayutalieN opted to go for Japanese music duo Pink Lady because he was producing a song for a movie, and they needed Pink Lady to sing it. Though Akihiro Hino, and Pink Lady themselves thought that the deal was ridiculous, they were still honored to sing a song for a Yo-kai Watch movie.
The original demo version of the song "was too close to rock", but when the duo themselves requested some parts to be changed, it sounded more like a disco genre which became reminiscent of Pink Lady's older music.[1] This song was Pink Lady's first single to be released in over 15 years since their previous song Terebi ga Kita Hi.
The recording process for the song was difficult, because they hadn't done any new material for a while. It was also because the song had a fast tempo for the duo and they had to practice their breath timing and varying octaves, due to it being composed as a VOCALOID song rather than for standard human vocals. [2] Despite the problems, Pink Lady saw it as their definite last song and poured their heart into recording it. [3]
