The Legend of Dandoodle (Japanese: レジェンド妖怪! イケメン犬!,Rejendo Yōkai! Ikemenken!) and Komasan: Movin' On Up! Episode 4 (Japanese: コマさんシーズン2 田舎者はバラ色に Episode4,Komasan Shīzun 2 Inakamono wa Bara-iro ni Episode4) is the 20th episode of the Yo-kai Watch anime series. It was broadcasted in Japan on May 30, 2014, and in the United States on January 25, 2016.
Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan meet the legendary Yo-kai, Dandoodle. Komasan gets promoted to president, but realizes he is losing touch with his younger brother at the same time.
This is the second episode a Legendary Yo-kai makes an appearance.
Jaiden Smith is briefly acknowledged by Nate after he sees Whisper get transformed into Will Smithper.
In one of Komasan's meetings during the montage, two characters can be seen on the presentation are a parody of Medama-Oyaji, called "Medama-Girl" (目玉の女の子), from GeGeGe no Kitaro and a robot called Danball Sen-ki (ダンボール1000機) which is a wordplay on "sen" meaning a "thousand" and Danball Senki, the Japanese title of Level-5's other franchise Little Battlers eXperience.
The Japanese symbols were strangely kept in the English dub, making it one of the few to not be painted over or edited out.
The enka singer on the poster at the ramen stand has some text under it in the Japanese version saying Tsundou (ヅンドコ) which is an alternate referral of the Zundoko Section (ズンドコ節) in enka music.
The person working at the ramen stand resembles Japanese film actor Ken Takakura.
Dub Differences
Like with Manjimutt, the scenes of Dandoodle peeing were edited in the English dub. Although, the pee stain on the wall is not edited out in the following scene.
Nate freaks out on Whisper and Jibanyan's faces in the original, but the dub added extra dialogue remarks to make pop culture references.
Dandoodle's reference to him getting drunk before he became a Yo-kai was changed to "going out of his mind" just because he lost his job.
Dandoole's dialogue in Recap Time is different. In the original, he states tells either Nate or the viewer that you’re leaving and thinks that you're jealous because he's fabulous. The dub changes it to him just boasting about being handsome.
The beverage in Komasan's glass was recolored to green to make it look less like wine.
Errors
Even though the peeing was edited out in the English dub of Recap Time, the sound effect is still heard.
