Takashi (タカシ) is a recurring minor character in the Yakuza series introduced in the original Yakuza. He is a retail employee and a former member of the B-Kings.
Background
Takashi was born to The Florist of Sai and an unnamed woman. At a very young age, his mother took custody of him as she left The Florist due to the underground nature of his work. She passed away not long after, leading Takashi to be estranged for the majority of his life.
At some point, he began working with the B-Kings, a gang which did some work with the Atobe Family. Eventually, he met Atobe's daughter, Kyoka, and they soon became a couple, much to Atobe's dismay. In December 2005, Takashi and Kyoka steal money from Atobe so they can elope, and find themselves fleeing from the entire Atobe Family.
Involvement
Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami: 2005
Takashi and Kyoka eventually find a safe hiding spot in the Yoshida Batting Center. When Kazuma Kiryu tracks them down there, Takashi attacks him with a baseball bat, thinking that he is a member of the Atobe Family. After being defeated, Takashi asks Kiryu to let him escape, but he is stopped by B-King and his gang, kidnapping Kyoka. Kiryu steps in, fighting the gang off, letting Takashi rescue her at the Kamuro Theater. Takashi attempts yubitsumeWP, but Kiryu urges him to stop, as he is not a yakuza and has nothing to atone for. One of Atobe's men then obtains a letter addressed to Kyoka and reads it to them. As per Atobe's wishes, Takashi and Kyoka are ultimately spared and allowed to be together, with both their fathers watching from afar.
Yakuza 2/Yakuza Kiwami 2: 2006
With another girl, Takashi bumps into Kazuma Kiryu in Theater Square. He then greets him and thanks him for helping him out with the Atobe Family situation a year ago. Kiryu notices he is not with Kyoka, which makes him think that Takashi is cheating. Kiryu expresses his disappointment, considering Takashi equal to an ordinary street punk. Takashi disagrees, and decides to have a talk with Kiryu at Shellac.
Takashi explains that he had been working at various jobs, but never lasted long or fit in with his co-workers. Kiryu again questions his previous commitment to Kyoka, and Takashi reveals that Kyoka is seeing another man, with one of his former colleagues affirming that Kyoka went to a hotel with this man. Kiryu is disappointed that Takashi did not bother to verify the info or ascertain the man's identity. Takashi then switches the topic to a legendary information dealer in Kamurocho, which refers to The Florist of Sai. With Takashi begging to see him, Kiryu finally agrees to take him to the Millennium Tower. There, The Florist reveals that the man Kyoka was seeing was none other than Atobe himself, with Kyoka begging him for money since Takashi has been unable to provide for them, but most importantly, Kyoka remains faithful to him. Realizing he's been a fool once again, Takashi thanks the two men for helping him, and vows to set things straight with Kyoka and keep trying to earn a decent living. Before leaving, he gets curious about his father's whereabouts, but The Florist tells him off and requests that he keeps his promise first.
2006-2010
Takashi got back together with Kyoka shortly after, and eventually finds a steady job at a retail business. By 2010, the pair conceived a child, and plan to get married.
Yakuza 4: 2010
Takashi meets Kiryu once again, this time in front of the Millennium Tower, and updates him on his current job position and relationship with Kyoka. Takashi is at the Millennium Tower because he wanted to see The Florist again, though the Tower is now home to yakuza. Kiryu agrees to redirect Takashi to The Florist's new location. In Purgatory, Takashi tells The Florist that he wants to find his estranged father because Kyoka is now pregnant and they plan to get married, but Takashi does not have anyone from his own family to invite to the wedding. After a stern talking, Takashi is determined to find his father, and The Florist agrees to help, under the condition that Takashi does some work for him.
The first task is to deal with a cheater in the Casino. Takashi runs into him, and he is tempted to learn the cheater's secrets, but refuses as he would rather live an honest life with Kyoka. The cheater leaves afterwards and The Florist assigns him the next task.
The second task is to prevent a scout from harassing more girls. Takashi succeeds and also declines the offer to stay with the girl he saved, as he remains faithful to Kyoka. The Florist gives him one final task before he agrees to help Takashi.
The final task is to stop a yakuza from bullying the homeless. Despite the yakuza's size, Takashi tries to start a fight, but the yakuza fends him off and gives him advice to not do anything reckless again. The homeless man flees the scene during the fight and The Florist considers it a success.
After some time, Kiryu gives Takashi The Florist's bouquet, and in it, he finds a message that says his father is dead. However, Takashi recognizes the flowers in the bouquet as his mother's favorite, and recalls how the same bouquet would always appear at her grave on each anniversary of her death, realizing that his father is indeed The Florist. Takashi then thanks Kiryu for everything he's done for him and invites him to his wedding, which he accepts.
