Poppo

Poppo (ポッポ) is a convenience store chain that appears throughout the Yakuza series. Its stores are located in Kamurocho, Sotenbori and Ijincho.

Yakuza Kiwami 2

The West Shichifuku Street, Sotenbori Poppo mart features the substory "A High Energy Worker," where Kiryu befriends an enthusiastic store clerk.

Judgment

The Poppo Mart stores in Judgment hold a music fair promotion, where every ¥700 spent results in a point given. If Yagami earns 10 points, he is given a record for his office, and the friendship level of the clerk reaches its maximum level. Each Poppo mart has a different record to be awarded, and a different clerk to befriend.

Trivia

• Poppo appears to be based on two of Japan's leading convenience store chains, Lawson and FamilyMart, as evidenced by most of the outlets in the series being placed in locations that correspond to branches in the real world.
• In Yakuza 5: All stores in Kamurocho are cleaning, so Saejima cannot enter.
• In Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami 2, the stores are the location of a unique heat action in which an opponent is thrown head-first into a microwave, which a clerk then switches on after being asked to 'warm them up' by Kiryu, instantly defeating the opponent. In Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kasuga can also utilizes this heat action if an opponent stands too close to the storefront before he attacks.
