Chitose Fujinomiya (不二宮 千歳, Fujinomiya Chitose) is a playable character in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. She is a former VTuber and investigative journalist under the alias Hisoka Tatara (多々良 ひそか, Tatara Hisoka) and the chairwoman of the Fujinomiya Group.
Profile
Appearance
Chitose is a slim, athletic woman with pale skin, brown eyes, and medium-length dark brown hair dyed black with blonde highlights, parted to her right side, and styled into a bun and three tight side braids. At Wong Tou's casino, her hair is completely black and neatly slicked back. Later, her hair is cut short. As Hisoka, she uses a digital puppet resembling a stylish young blonde woman to hide her identity.
Personality
She initially appeared as a prankster and trickster. Her goal is not to compromise her family name. She showed disbelief when Kasuga forgave her the bad experience of waking up naked on the beach.
Although she works for Eiji at the Tatara Channel, she revealed herself to Eiji, exposing his betrayal and his video call with Dwight Mendez. She feels remorse for her role as a spy.
Attire
Chitose is seen in several attires:
- Standard attire that consists of a black T-shirt, a pair of black jogger pants, and a pair of gray sneakers.
- Blue form-fitting tank top dress, silver dress watch, earrings, and high heels when the party infiltrates Wong Tou's casino.
- White short-sleeved dress shirt, a pair of glasses, and a pair of plain black dress pants when disguised as a waitress.
- A variation of her standard attire, with dress pants in lieu of her jogger pants and a bomber jacket over her T-shirt during her stay in Ijincho.
She appears to have a penchant for jewelry, as shown by her necklaces, bracelet on her left arm, as well as a ring on her left middle finger and several piercings.
Background
Born into the prestigious Fujinomiya family, Chitose's whole life was dictated by her parents, from the clothes she wore to the friends she made. Despite this, her father was always too busy with business dealings, leaving his servants to raise his children.
Around 2016, Chitose started the Tatara Channel, where she would talk about frivolous stuff to her few watchers. Three years later, a Fujinomiya Group cargo tanker sank, killing all the people inside, and her father, the chairman, tried to cover it up. Chitose accidentally found the documents relating this and decided to expose him in her channel. Around 2020, Eiji Mitamura contacted Chitose offering to redesign Tatara and rewrite the script. As a result, the case got much attention from the public, and her father told her to get out of Japan and sent her to study abroad in Hawaii for the time being. Ever since, she has been running the Tatara Channel alongside Eiji. The channel got massively popular, having 5 million subscribers by 2023.
Eventually, Eiji's scripts started diving into more controversial topics, like exposing ex-yakuza who had long left their life of crime. Chitose started feeling uncomfortable about them and almost quit, but Eiji threatened to expose her identity to the world.
Involvement
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth: 2023
Tatara exposes Ichiban Kasuga, accusing him of reselling stolen goods with other ex-yakuza. This causes him to get fired from his job at Hello Work.
Akane Kishida mysteriously disappears, and Eiji orders Chitose to wait for Ichiban at her house and pose as Akane's housekeeper to win Ichiban's trust and search for Akane together. Chitose instead drugs Ichiban, steals all his possessions and leaves him naked in Aloha Beach, hoping to get him arrested for public indecency. Chitose uses his stolen passport as a pass to enter District Five, headquarters of the Barracuda gang, who she felt were involved with Akane's disappearance. She mingled and flirted her way towards the top echelon of the gang and even came under the wing of the leader, Dwight Mendez. Having discovered that Kasuga and his party, Kazuma Kiryu and Eric Tomizawa, had entered District Five, Dwight orders Chitose to fool them into thinking she's on their side and leading them to a trap he laid out. However, after seeing Kasuga for the trusting person he is, and regretting having previously wronged him as Tatara, she brought them over to Dwight's penthouse and assisted in him bringing down.
After joining the party, Chitose helps Kasuga to find Akane. They investigate the Palekana, a religious group Akane was a part of, but only discover that she disappeared with a 10-year old girl, Lani Mililani.
Chitose has the idea to record a video of Kasuga and posting it on the internet in the hopes Akane will see it. This reunites them with Eiji, much to Chitose's dismay, but also attracts unwanted attention from Yutaka Yamai, a man with a grudge to settle with Kasuga and Kiryu, and the Ganzhe, another mafia group looking for Akane. Kasuga's unwanted fame causes has the party forced to hide in a safehouse of the Daidoji Faction. Now knowing that the Ganzhe was also looking for Akane, the party tries to enter their secret VIP-exclusive casino in Nirvana Hotel, by achieving such status in a smaller casino they operate. However, their plan fails and Chitose reluctantly uses her family's name to guarantee their entrance.
Once entering the hotel, the party meets the leader of Ganzhe, Wong Tou. They fight him for answers, but Wong breaks the cardinal rule of talking about the "Overseer". His son is kidnapped by the Overseer's men, leaving Wong Tou surrounded by traitors of his own organization and spies under the Overseer's command. With a wounded Wong, they hide in a forest. He tells them the Overseer was Bryce Fairchild all along. Yamai suddenly sets the forest on fire, seeking revenge against Kasuga and wanting to kill Wong Tou to take over Ganzhe's territory. Tomizawa gets a car and drives the party and Wong away to safety, though at the great cost of leaving a heavily battered Kiryu behind.
Back at the Daidoji safehouse, the party receives additional backup from Japan with both Koichi Adachi and Yu Nanba coming to Hawaii. They take Kiryu back from Yamai's hands, but find out that he was actually caring for him out of respect for the legend. They then have no choice but to send Kiryu back to Japan, with Nanba going back with him. The rest of the gang then got information that Akane and Lani were both last seen in Night Square, the territory held by the Yamai Syndicate. They go there only to find Yamai confronting an alliance between the Ganzhe and the Barracudas. Yamai sides with the team briefly to take them out of turf. Afterwards, the party fought Yamai briefly only for the again defeated Yamai to reveal that he had no clue on where Akane went or whether she was in his territory or not but Kasuga then pleaded with Yamai that now with him basically showing that he can't be beaten even with both the Ganzhe and Barracudas failing to squeeze him out and with him helping Kiryu despite always saying that he'll kill Kiryu every chance he had but didn't when he had it, he's Kasuga's only last hope in securing Akane if he can and Yamai reluctantly agreed. When the gang was leaving Yamai's headquarters, the El Dorado Cabaret, the tattoo lady that gave Kasuga the info about Kiryu when he was captured by Yamai then revealed that she had chanced upon Akane and Lani and had actually kept them both out at sea all along till Kasuga can find them. Once they secured Akane and Lani, Yamai then assists in transporting Akane and Lani to the Daidoji safehouse as he had promised.
Just as the group was about to rest, Chitose suddenly snatched Eiji's phone, revealing that he leaked their location to Dwight, as he was actually a spy working for Masataka Ebina. She also reveals that Eiji could walk all along and was just using the wheelchair to fool Kasuga into feeling the same pity he felt for Masato Arakawa, and keep tabs or even sabotage their efforts in finding Akane and Lani. The Ganzhe-Barracudas storm the safehouse, killing Wong and Kihei Hanawa, whilst whisking Eiji away together with Lani. Reporting the information to Kiryu, Chitose tells them the truth about the Tatara Channel. She also revealed that reason why Ebina sent Kasuga to Hawaii was to lure Akane and Lani out easier and that Eiji was sent there to keep an eye and to keep tabs on everything that Kasuga has done in Hawaii and had been doing so since their first meeting.
Chitose, feeling guilty over everything she has done, leaves the party and goes on a warpath against Eiji alone. Using a GPS tracker she hid in Eiji's bag, she heads to Club Guilty disguised as a waitress to look for Lani and get her out. Kasuga and gang also received the same info and bust into the club. Chitose holds Eiji at gunpoint, forcing him to release Lani. Just as her eyes shifted towards Lani, Chitose gets her arm slashed with a knife which causes her to stumble down towards Kasuga. With the party back together, they chase after Eiji to a stairwell, where he gives them Lani alongside a tear gas bomb. As the bomb went off, Eiji and his men take Lani back from Chitose and the party was choking on the fumes and in confusion.
With Chitose back in the party, she contemplated that Lani would definitely be brought to Nele Island by the Palekanas as that is their stronghold. However, as the party was met with even more resistance by Barracudas, they concluded that Lani might still be in Honolulu. With time running out, Chitose then remembered that during her time in District Five, she noticed a path that led towards a dock while heading towards Dwight's penthouse and came to the conclusion that that's where the Palekanas would be shipping Lani off to Nele Island without anyone noticing. After fighting their way towards the dock, the party spotted Dwight personally loading Lani onto a boat, ready to ship her off. He is defeated yet again. With Lani now in their hands, the team decides to ship both her and Akane to Japan, away from Bryce's reach, and have the Daidoji protect them. Yamai takes them all on a boat to Japan, but halfway though the journey, Dwight intercepts the party and tries to take Lani and Akane back to Hawaii by force, but after losing once more he is forced to flee and is eaten by a massive shark.
Now with Kiryu and Kasuga's parties reunited in Japan, they decide to split again to attack both fronts: Kiryu's party confronts Ebina whereas Kasuga's party would head back to Hawaii with the assistance of the Daidoji to destroy Bryce's control of the Palekana once and for all. While everyone was sleeping, Chitose visits her father and pleads with him correct the wrongs that the family had done when they shipped the nuclear waste to Nele Island.
Once Kasuga's party reached Nele Island, they were astonished by the amount of nuclear waste that it had. After Bryce is defeated, Chitose suddenly starts a livestream for the Tatara Channel, exposing Bryce and Ebina's handiwork to the public. She is then joined by her father, who cuts ties with the project, apologizing for the chaos that they had a hand in building. Lastly, Chitose reveals her identity as Hisoka Tatara to the world and profusely apologizes for every person she has wronged through her career, saying that all of her news were lies.
A few months later, Chitose takes over the role as chairwoman of the Fujinomiya Group and is busy cleaning up the mess that her father made.
Fighting style
She was trained in self-defense by Tenda, who she refers to as Gramps.[2] In the first fight after she joins Kasuga's crew, she stated that she is quick on her feet. Given that she has a passion for various dance styles like ballet, ballroom dancing, hip hop and Japanese traditional dances, she relies on her quickness, agility and flexibility to kick and defend. She also has experience as a dog handler, so she can train them as backups for help.
Once she builds up her bond with Kasuga, they would share a tandem attack based on tango dance.
As a darts player, she tends to aim for Bull's Eye.
