Akame (赤目) is a character featured in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. She is the operator of the Akame Network.
Profile
Appearance
Akame's face is modeled after her Japanese-language voice actor, First Summer Uika.
Background
When Akame first arrived in Sotenbori, she aspired to be a singer. While also working a part-time job, she performed songs on the streets, uploaded videos online, and tried selling CDs to strangers. For a long time, her ambitions went unrecognized, though one day, a homeless man purchased a CD from her out of pity. He then brought over his other homeless friends, and proclaimed they would bring her to the top. After such a long period without success, Akame couldn't help but cry, and formed a bond with the homeless people, which laid the foundation for the Akame Network.
Akame set up her Akame Network office in a warehouse previously owned by the Odyssey.
Involvement
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name: 2019
Akame is told by a regular client of hers, Yuki Tsuruno, that a man will be visiting her. She investigates a nearby ruckus and finds the man in question, who introduces himself as Joryu. She enlists his help to assist the local homeless and hires him as muscle for the Akame Network. She can bond with Joryu initially by gifting cigarettes and jewellry, then after two hangouts at Stijl, Joryu can challenge her in a Pocket Circuit race at CourStar. After the third event, Joryu and Akame can sing karaoke.
At the fourth event at level 19, it turns out that Akame has been held hostage after she tried to mediate a fight, hence missing out on the audition.
In the finale, she helped Hanawa pinpoint Nishitani's location while doing makeup for Watase so his wounds won't show up before the announcement of dissolution.
Trivia
- The name "Akame" (赤目) literally translates to "red eye". Appropriately, Akame and her network are represented by a red eye icon in-game.
