Genbu (Japanese: ゲンブ) is a Titan in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Genbu is a large Titan resembling a massive tortoise. It is home to the Kingdom of Tantal, an isolationist state. Genbu features a much colder climate than other Titans, and is the only one known to experience snowfall. Its arctic-like climate is not natural, however, as the Kingdom of Tantal needs to sap its ether energy to refine Core Chips for the Indoline Praetorium.
Story
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Genbu's time and location of birth are unknown, but the remains of an ancient civilization within it suggest that it is well over a thousand years old. At some point after Artifice Ophion is defeated during the Aegis War, its control unit - the Omega Fetter - is installed in Genbu's head, allowing the ruler of Tantal to control Genbu's movements and Pandoria to communicate with it. Genbu spends most of its time under the cloud sea but surfaces when summoned by Pandoria so that the party may enter Tantal, and again when Amalthus brings the Titans up to attack the World Tree. In the end, Genbu becomes a new landmass alongside the other great Titans.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed
When Z used Origin to create Aionios, the remains of Genbu formed a majority of the Cent-Omnia Region, merging with the Bionis' Leg to form Vermilion Woods, the Aurora Shelf, and The Ragmos Desolation, and merging with Valak Mountain to form the Black Mountains.

Etymology
- Genbu, or 玄武, Xuánwǔ, in Chinese, is the Black Tortoise in the Chinese constellations. It is one of the four symbols and represents the north and the winter season. The other three of the four symbols are 青龍 (Azure Dragon, Azurda), 朱雀 (Vermilion Bird, Roc), and 白虎 (White Tiger, Dromarch).
