The Boundary, later upgraded into the Bravery (Japanese: 船, Fune, Boat) is a vehicle in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.[1]
Overview
The Boundary is a boat originally owned by Samon. He lends it to the Ouroboros, to enable their infiltration of Agnus Castle. The Erythia Sea being so large that it is difficult to swim across the islands, the party can use the Boundary to traverse the seas faster.
Later on, in order for the party to get through the Great Sea to get to Origin safely, the Boundary is upgraded into the Bravery, which has boosters installed to allow it to go faster. When the assault on Origin begins, the ship is then driven into the heart of Origin, disabling its force field and dissipating the vortex surrounding it.
Gameplay
The Boundary or Bravery primarily appears on the Erythia Sea. When near the ship, the party can board the ship by embarking, after which the player takes control of the ship. The party can disembark at any time, whereupon they are deposited nearby.
While on the ship, enemies cannot attack the party, allowing them to safely traverse bodies of water populated by high-level enemies. However, its large size means that it cannot travel past certain formations of rocks, such as those leading to Oshia's Reef Ravine or The Aegis Sea.
The Boundary/Bravery's cabin works as a Rest Spot, which can be accessed while aboard by pressing ZL + ↓. Once upgraded to the Bravery, the boosters can be engaged at any time, allowing the Bravery to travel much faster than the Boundary.
When Skip Traveling to any Landmark or Rest Spot in the Cadensia Region, the Boundary/Bravery will be placed on a nearby shore or dock. The same is not true for Named Graves, which when Skip Traveled to will spawn the boat in Sentridge Harbor.
