The Open Session was a play session for XDefiant that ran from June 21st, 2023 to June 23rd, 2023.[1][2] It served to stress-test the servers and validate new improvements made after the Closed Beta's closure such as controller aim assist, server stability and netcode. The Open Session featured almost all launch maps, modes and weapons.
The Open Session is available for any player to download without having to go through an entry barrier. The Open Session, however, will be available 1 day early for Closed Beta Participants.
Overview
The Open Session fixed several bugs from the Closed Beta, and balanced several weapons and gadgets. Most notably, Libertad received several nerfs to their abilities. A new netcode build was also tested, and the game experienced a rebranding. DedSec was released for testing, of which a Ubisoft Connect challenge was active to unlock the faction early in the Preseason. The Open Session also included further input latency testing for PlayStation 5 and 120Hz server tick rate for consoles.
