August: There are four UFO sightings over Lake Okobogee. One sighting is by a National Weather Service airplane and another by a Girl Scout troop, who manage to take a photograph. The United States Air Force claims that it was a weather balloon caught by a wind sheer, despite the fact that no weather balloons were launched that day for several hundred miles. In Pontiac, Michigan, a young Melvin Frohike attacks a fellow high school student over whether the Cutlass 442 is faster thant the Belvedere GTX. He then makes it known of his intention to become a big-time publisher, like Hugh Hefner. (TLG: "Like Water for Octane")
