Hekazi[1] was a jungle troll who fought in the Third War alongside Varok Saurfang. He taught his son Zekhan to keep his "hands busy" and his "mind sharp,"[2] and also told him stories about how Saurfang could cut down ten enemies with a single blow.[3] At an unknown point in time, he and Rokhan were part of a Horde scouting mission at Blackfathom Deeps. The mission went bad with only the two Darkspear trolls surviving. The wounded Hekazi was saved by Rexxar, who happened to be nearby, with Misha carrying him on her back. Hekazi became known as a hero,[4] with Rokhan remembering him as one of his bravest hunters.[5] Hekazi would later tell his son about this mission, but would omit the part with Misha.[4] Hekazi later fought in the Ahn'Qiraj War in Silithus under Saurfang.[6]
Hekazi died at some point before the start of the Fourth War. Zekhan first met Varok on the eve of the Battle for Lordaeron and mentioned his father to the orc.[3]
Notes
- His name is almost an anagram of his son's.

During the Third War, Saurfang notably fought at the Battle of Mount Hyjal.[7] As such, Hekazi may have fought with Varok during that battle.
