Alman was a human living in a small coastal village on Azeroth's western shore that got attacked by angry murlocs. He is an old tanned fisherman.
When the murlocs attacked he and his grandson Salin decided to stay. Salin was later captured and the village decimated. They had attacked because Alman stole their idol, dooming the village.[1]
