Notes

There are multiple items named Notes in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the Blood and Wine expansion.

Notes (Troubleu)

These Notes are a document in the Blood and Wine expansion, found along with a gold pearl necklace at the bottom of Troubleu, near the pier, usually during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear.

They told me if I walked the path of atonement, Lebioda would give me strength and show me the way to start a new life. They lied. I gave away everything I had, I did penance for all my sins, I compensated those I had wronged - and what? Nothing. I feel empty, bereft. Let devils take Lebioda and all his followers!

Notes (Heatherton)

These Notes are a cut content quest item in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, still present in the game files, but only obtainable through console commands.

They were originally intended to be found in Hendrik's hidden basement, in the chest that now only contains crowns, and provided instructions on a series of turns to be performed on the candlestick that opens the secret compartment. It was likely cut because the puzzle simply felt like a needless complication and annoyance.

Every wanderer must know the points of the compass. Every man who longs to reach a destination must first find the route. The fire can only be lit by facing north, then flicking your eyes first to the west, then to the east, and finally glancing westward twice more. May the gods watch over your journey's path...

Notes (Undvik)

There are two books named Notes cut from around Undvik in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, still present in the game files, but only obtainable through console commands.

They are the 5th and 7th books respectively out of 7, collectively known as "journals from Urskar", detailing what led to Undvik's destruction. Small bits from that still remain in dialogues during The Lord of Undvik quest, but the overall story and a lot of other content related to the island have been removed from the game.

5th journal from Urskar

Journal entry

Recently a lamb with two heads was born at Kodvig Sorensson's place. Even our eldest don't remember ever seeing as strange a thing as that. Is it two beasts or one? Where's a thing's essence lie, its brain or its heart? Don't rightly know, personally. But I do know this - when nature takes to spitting out oddities like that, it means trouble for the lives of men sooner rather than later.
The freakish lamb (lambs?) didn't live long. Let out a last howl at dawn, then the old sheephand burned the body till it was fine ash, and scattered it into the sea.

7th journal from Urskar

Journal entry

That crazed fool Madman Lugos' men have raided a village on Undvik's eastern shore. Hit them by surprise, then hid, the cowardly dogs. Must not have wanted Clan Tordarroch's jarl to discover the truth, because they covered their tartans with soot. Didn't expect our guard to be on the look out and for our folk to put up resistance. Four of ours died, two of theirs. Clearly Lugos has gotten bored of raiding the Continent and is looking for loot closer to home. One thing's certain: if it's war he wants, it's war he's gonna get.
