Hirundum

Hirundum is a large farm in Temeria owned by the Hofmeier family, and is located about 15 miles west of Gors Velen.[1]

The many orchards, gardens, and ponds the farm hosts provide fish such as carp, fruit, and vegetables for all the surrounding cities. Through the use of wires leading into glass demijohns, lightning was secretly used in the production of wine.[1]

History

Drowning incident

In June 1267, a young boy drowned in one of Hirundum's pools, which locals suspected was the work of a drowner or kikimore. Bernie Hofmeier put out a notice for a witcher, which was quickly answered by Geralt of Rivia, accompanied by Dandelion. While the contract didn't pay well, Geralt knew the farmers and wanted to be closer to Thanedd Island.[1]

Trivia

  • The name is possibly inspired by the real world Latin term hirundo, or its French equivalent hirondelle, used for the barn swallow bird species.
