Braathens was a Nilfgaardian sorcerer in the service of the Usurper, who overthrew Emperor Fergus var Emreis. Emhyr var Emreis, his son, was transformed by Braathens into a humanoid form of a hedgehog. After coming to power in 1257, Emhyr sentenced him to death by burning.
