Anika was a druid and a friend of Geralt's mother, Visenna.
Biography
After Visenna was killed, Anika visited the Temple of Truth to mourn the death of her friend. There she met the werewolf Otto, who was mourning the loss of his wife and children. Anika decided to take him with her to her house in the forest and taught him how to make potions.
Geralt and Jaskier visited her to ask for her help with a confused young woman named, Teryn. Anika discovered that a mage manipulated girl's mind, making her believe she is Ciri. It was a combination of Chaos, druidic magic, and elven sorcery. It was clear that whoever had done this to him was a powerful mage with many interests. Anika administered an extraction elixir to Teryn and all she could do was wait to see if it worked, and find out who did this to her. Unfortunately Geralt woke Teryn too soon and altered the effects of the elixir. This caused Anika to be injured, but Otto managed to stabilize her.
Waking up in bed with Geralt sitting next to her, Anika told him that Visenna's death was difficult for her. They killed her while helping a villager, mistaking her for an elf and beat her very seriously. Geralt had not forgiven his mother for abandoning him, but he never wanted her to suffer. Anika assured Geralt that Visenna's hardest decision was when she had to leave him, but that she only did it out of love to save him. It was the only way he saw that the witchers would give him a better future. She suggests doing the same with Ciri, but Geralt refuses to abandon her and feel the same as he felt. Before leaving, Geralt asked Anika to take care of Teryn.
