Overview

The Quetelizardia is a reptilian creature that can breathe fire.

Appearance

The Quetelizardia has a red body covered in a diamond-like pattern and large, spiked feathers.

Series

Season 2

In "Darkar’s Prisoner," Gargantua informs Brandon and Sky that an audience with Amentia requires a dress code consisting of Quetelizardia feathers. Brandon and Sky go to find the creature, and discover it sleeping. While they succeed in getting its feathers, they wake it in the process, and are soon chased by the creature which breathes fire at them. They manage to escape its grasp and present the feathers to Amentia.

Trivia

• The Quetelizardia was partly inspired by Quetzalcoatl, a God from Mesoamerican mythology, who was represented by a feathered snake, and by the Resplendent quetzal bird, which was associated to Quetzalcoatl and whose feathers were worn by the nobles in ancient Mesoamerica.
• In the 4Kids dub, it is called a "Wild Dragon".
