Myrcalus

Myrcalus the Vindicator is the Ninth and current Emperor of the Dominion. He is one of the many Luminai descended from Dominus the Half-Blood, the Dominion's first emperor.

Myrcalus took the throne by force after the dark reign of Vorios the False nearly brought the empire to ruin. Known to many Dominion citizens as "Dominus Reborn", Myrcalus is said to physically resemble his illustrious predecessor, along with embodying his strength, wisdom and courage.

When Nexus was discovered, he declared it the new capital of the Dominion.

History

Myrcalus of House Azrion was a cousin of Jarec the Vigilant, the Seventh Emperor, and was present at his funeral procession. As a young noble, he watched with anger as Vorios of House Chaul succeeded Jarec of House Azrion, despite the suspected involvement in his death. Standing before Jarec's tomb, Myrcalus swore to avenge his fallen emperor.

Myrcalus investigated the death of Jarec with the secret aid of Axis Pheydra and the ICI, relentlessly followed a fading trail of witnesses and conspirators, until finally forcing a confession from the assassin. The assassin revealed that Vorios ordered the previous emperor killed in his sleep using subtle poison.

Myrcalus would take the sword Indominar, once wielded by Azrion the Conquerer himself, and marched to the palace on Cassus. He would rally the Draken throneguards to his side, explaining he was there to avenge Jarec. Upon entering the throne room, he singlehandedly slew three bodyguards before executing Vorios for his misdeeds. He would thus become known as "The Vindicator", due to his actions redeeming the Dominion from its time of darkness.

Myrcalus spoke the ancient Draken dialect as it was his own, and would preside over the trial of General Zarkuna One-Horn, allowing the then Colonel Kezrek Warbringer to duel the accused rather than let him be executed in disgrace.

In the wake of the discovery of Nexus, Emperor Myrcalus has sworn that he will bring the homeworld of his ancestors under Dominion control, and lead the empire into a radiant new age of galactic supremacy.

Current Events

Emperor Myrcalus appears as a quest giver throughout the Dominion tutorial on the Destiny as a hologram. Near the end, it is revealed by Axis Pheydra that Myrcalus is not present on the Arkship in person. His current whereabouts are unknown, though Axis claims to have seen him, on occasion.
