Lore

The humble grinder was invented by Granok mercenaries looking for a rugged combat and reconnaissance vehicle^[1]. Featuring a gyro-stabilized chassis, single all-terrain tire, and forward-mounted levitron engine, grinders make stable weapons platforms and are incredibly difficult to roll over. They come in a variety of colors and styles, though mercenary models are typically green.

Grinders can be easily rigged to carry rocket launchers, cannons, and other heavy weapons. Their drivers rely on speed, rather than armor, to avoid damage on the battlefield. Granok mercenaries are known to form “mounted” companies comprised entirely of combat-fitted grinders that fire explosive barrages as they close on their enemies. The grinder gets its name from the sound of its engine.
