Sondra "Succubus" Falin is a fictional character in the Wild Cards series of books, with the power to transform to become an object of peoples' deepest desires.
History
Born in 1951, Sondra Falin fell victim to the wild card at an early age, gaining the ability to subconsciously transform into the most sexually appealing person to those nearby, yet her body aged at a grossly accelerated rate. She was already showing the first signs of puberty at age 5 when her father raped her the first time.
As an adult Sondra used the power, which she dubbed "Succubus", prostituting herself to survive. Although she later abandoned the life of a prostitute, she was compelled to use her power to ensnare Senator Hartmann in order to spy for the Jokers for a Just Society. It was with this group that she participated in a series of rallies that quickly degenerated into riot. Caught in the middle of a violent altercation, Sondra lost control of her power, causing it to randomly attune to dozens of rioters and security personnel at once. She was caught and born down by the sexually aroused mob, which literally tore her apart as each individual tried desperately to reach her.
Wild Card Traits
Succubus was a sexual empath, possessing the ability to subconsciously alter her appearance to fit the deepest sexual desires of those around her. She could assume both male and female forms, appearing young or old as needed. The power worked through a low level subconscious telepathy that sensed what her partners desired, and then her body molded to fit. She was able to contain the transformations, preventing them from occurring, and simply had to let go of it in order for the transformations to begin. Her low level telepathy also helped to arouse those it touched, and the power also had a compelling effect on her once it was fully engaged.
A side effect of being Succubus was that Sondra aged at roughly 2.5 times the normal rate of a woman.
Appearance
At the time of her death, Sondra's default appearance was that of a grey haired old woman with arthritis swelling some of her joints. She could appear as any man or woman of any age when in the company of someone sexually aroused.
Personality
Sondra was, for the most part, a patient and determined woman. She suffered from depression because of her unnaturally aged condition and experienced frustration at how her power sometimes goaded her into doing things she hated. She also held a secret love for Hartmann even though he would occasionally hurt her.
