Luigi is Mario's younger brother. He lives in his brother's shadow, and is the rival of Wario's partner Waluigi. He is also known to be a friend of Wario's. He can jump further and higher than Mario as seen in a few classic Mario games, but he has less traction. He is also rumored to be the love interest of Princess Daisy, however, this has been left unconfirmed.

Personality
Luigi is as optimistic and heroic as Mario, but unlike Mario, who is portrayed as brave and fearless, Luigi is portrayed as shy, clumsy, silly and cowardly. Luigi doesn't like taking risks and is afraid things will go wrong. Luigi's cowardice is often shown when Luigi is taking risks alongside his brother Mario, but Luigi shows signs of courage when it's needed whether it's to help his brother Mario, defeat Bowser, or save Princess Peach. Luigi is very afraid of scary things, but ghosts are considered to be Luigi's biggest fear.
