Fences are a type of decoration. Fences are available from the General Store and can either section off a garden or make the landscape look nice. A fence wall can be used to isolate a piñata or its house in a certain place with fences. Fences can also be used to separate different piñata species that conflict and fight all the time.
Each segment of fence is a single Pinometer in length, and is always aligned to a grid. This allows measurement and more precise placement of objects.
Constructing a fence
First select the type of fence to build from the General Store. Start laying down the fence making sure that it is all connected so that the fence does its job. A blank space in the fence, or two spaces if a larger piñata is to be allowed in and out of the zone, must be left if a gate is to be added, as it is not possible to place gates on top of already existing fences. The limit on the amount of fence segments is not high, so larger fences rounding off the entire garden area are impossible to make.
Fence Gates
There are gates that can be installed next to fences. Putting two gates together creates a bigger gate, which when opened will open both sides at the same time.
Tips
- Different fence types do work together, allowing for checkered fences.
- Avoid boxing in piñatas with fences, without giving them adequate room to roam a bit. Piñatas can repeatedly get sick if stuck in a fenced area too small for them. This overrides the Halo of Hardness's effect, so this can result in a piñata being smashed by Dastardos if the player is not aware of this.
- Fences cannot be built on water. Smaller piñatas will find a gap at the waters edge and can get around incomplete fences.
- Strangely, occasionally (non-flying) piñatas will get through a closed fence.
