The Vampirus is the Bat and Vampire-themed monster of the Evil Space Aliens serving Rito Revolto and a minor antagonist in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He serves as the main antagonist of the final part of the four-part episode "Ninja Quest," a supporting antagonist in the first part of the three-parter "A Different Shade Of Pink" and a minor antagonist in the two-part Power Rangers In Space series finale "Countdown to Destruction."
He is originally voiced by Michael Sorich who previously voiced Squatt, the Polluticorn, the Pumpkin Rapper and the Crabby Cabbie in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and later voiced Wrecking Ball and Tough Tusks in Power Rangers Zeo, Shrinkasect and Voltmeister in Power Rangers Turbo, Elephantitan and the Crocotoxes in Power Rangers In Space, Quakemaker, Teksa and Hardtochoke in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Triskull, Birdbane and the Gatekeeper in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, Brickneck in Power Rangers Time Force and Camera Org, Artilla and Locomotive Org in Power Rangers Wild Force. Outside of Power Rangers, he is most well known as Zudomon in Digimon Tamers and Vikaralamon in Digimon Adventure 02. In his return appearance, the Vampirus is voiced by Wendee Lee who previously voiced Scorpina also in MMPR,
Biography
The Vampirus first comes to as a wedding gift to Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd from Rito Revolto. When Rito destroys the Rangers' Thunderzords and cracks their Power Coins, they travel to Ninjor's Temple and acquire his Ninja Ranger Powers. Rito also brings an army of Tenga Warriors, waiting to hatch but, when they do, Vampirus has not hatched yet and Zedd decides to have the Tengas leave the egg outside Ninjor's temple and have it attack it when hatched. When it awakens, he lures Ninjor out and attempts to destroy him but fails so Rita and Zedd make Vampirus grow and Ninjor grows as well and fights him. Although the monster overwhelms him, his determination to defeat the monster changes him into Battle Mode; knocking the monster out of the fake dimension. As the Ninjazords arrives, Ninjor blasts the monster with a fireball before the Rangers form the Ninja MegaFalconzord and destroy the Vampirus with the Power Punch.
Vampirus is later resurrected with the Artistmole to aid Goldar and the Tengas attacking various parts of Angel Grove in order to separate the Rangers. Tommy and Kimberly go up against after Goldar and several Tengas, Billy and Adam go after another group of Tengas and Rocky and Aisha are left to fight Vampirus and Artistmole but they launch multiple attacks until the weakened Kimberly collapses and they teleport away.
The Vampirus is later seen again, arriving in a limo to Master Vile's End of the World Party.
In Space
Later that year, the Vampirus is seen amongst Rita and Zedd's army during thier invasion of the M-51 Galaxy. Although they defeat the Gold Ranger, the Vampirus is turned to dust with the rest of the army when Zordon's Energy Wave washes over the universe.
