Sunny Soke is Willie Soke's mother and the main antagonist of the 2016 film Bad Santa 2. She is portrayed by Kathy Bates, who also portrayed Annie Wilkes in Misery.
In Phoenix, Willie is reunited with Marcus, who apologizes for his actions in the first film and recruits him for a heist at a Chicago charity. Willis reluctantly accepts, but almost changes his mind when he discovers that his mother is going to be their partner in crime. As a child, Sunny abused and neglected Willie, and even pinned some of her crimes on him.
Sunny double-crosses Willie and Marcus after the heist and reveals that she was only using them. She attempts to flee with the heist money but Willie stops her, saying that he'd rather let the charity have it than let her take it. Willie rips the bag open, spewing the money all over the ice rink and having the other Santa cosplayers grab it for themselves. Angered, Sunny attempts to shoot Willie but Thurman inadvertently takes the bullet in his butt while trying to give Willie a hug. Sunny is overwhelmed by the police just in time, and Willie accepts Thurman as his real family.
In the ending credits, Willie posts on Instagram a photo of his mom in an orange jumpsuit awaiting incarceration and she's been sentenced from 25 years to life.
