Sanyo is Long's right hand man and a major antagonist of Juuken Sentai Gekiranger, serving as the secondary antagonist in its second half. Long created him from a piece of his body, making him the embodiment of his immortality.
He is voiced by the late Hideyuki Umezu in Japanese.
History
Juken Sentai Gekiranger
After Long wormed his way into Rio's service, Sanyo drags in the large wooden coffin holding Suugu, sending his apprentices to convince Rio of their power in vain. But Sanyo was later forced by Mele to reveal what he knew about Long's true plan, as his habit of spilling hints of Long's plans had forced him to reveal what he knew about it. He later battles the Gekirangers to keep them from Mele, only to be defeated by her, GekiChopper, GekiViolet, GekiBlue, and GekiYellow. Though he survived the incident because of his immortality, Sanyo serves his purpose of recreating Long. In the end, Sanyo is devoured by Long as he decides to fight the Gekirangers at his full power.
Kamen Rider x Super Sentai x Super Hero Taisen
Sanyo is revived as a member of the Shocker-Zangyack Alliance. He can be seen fighting Sword Den-O.
Super Hero Taisen Z
Sanyo was part of an Army of Resurrected (mostly Super Sentai) monsters led by Space Raider following the revival of Madou Demon King Psycho. They proceeded to attack the gathering of Kamen Riders and Super Sentai, giving them a hard time. The heroes of recent years were in a pinch until the arrival of a force of Sentai and Rider reinforcements led by Akarenger and Kamen Rider Ichigo. The combined forces of superheroes were able to turn the tide against the Madou army. They lined up and used their various finisher attacks to destroy the revived monsters.
Basilisk-Fist Gengi
These Gengi are performed by Sanyo:
- Big-Heavy Slowdown: Opponents' gravity is increased to crush them.
- Small-Light Violent Change: Opponents' gravity is reduced enough to be blown away.
- Anti-Gravity Armor: Uses gravity to deflect Ki-based attacks.
- Graviton: Alters the surrounding gravity of the area to crush his opponents.
