Njano is a minor antagonist of 'The Lion Guard.' He is a deceptive skink who aids Ushari and Scar's plans by spying on the Lion Guard and Pridelanders for them. He is voiced by Ford Riley.
Biography
Njano first appears in 'The Rise of Scar' alongside the rest of the skinks who were summoned by Ushari and appears again alongside Shupavu in 'Let Sleeping Crocs Lie' where he and his partner spy on the goings on within the crocodiles and report back to Scar.
His first speaking role is in 'Swept Away' where he and his friends go up to Beshte while he's stranded in the Outlands and trick him into thinking they are friendly. Njano then runs back to the Volcano where he tells Ushari what's going on and is told by Scar to lead Beshte into a canyon so he can be crushed by rocks dropped by the hyenas.
In 'The Little Guy' Shupvanu and Njano watch Hodari's attempt to join Makuu's float. Njano finds it funny but Shupavu realizes how they can manipulate this and sends Njano ahead to convince Kiburi that Hodari would be a good addition to his float which he does on the grounds that Hodari knows information about the Lion Guard and Makuu though Njano neglects to mention Hodari is a gecko.
In 'The Scorpion's Sting,' Njano and the rest of the skinks attempt to corner the Lion Guard against the edge of the volcano but are blown away by Kion's roar.
In 'Undercover Kinyonga,' Njano and the rest of the skinks are listening to Scar's discussing his plans with Ushari and Janja when they notice the chameleon Kinyonga nearby and chase after her. Kinyona tricks Njano into crashing into Shupavu but eventually the skinks corner her but flee when the Lion Guard appears.
In 'The Hyena Resistance,' Njano reports to Scar the continued existence of Jasiri despite Janja saying he had gotten rid of her. Later he and Shupvau watch Jasiri offer Janja a place in her clan and Janja refuse which surprises Njano who had thought Janja would accept. The two report the incident back to Scar.
Throughout the rest of season 2, Njano continues to act usually alongside Shupvau as Scar's spy. His final appearance is in 'Battle for the Pridelands.' Njano first reports to Scar that the Lion Guard is planning and invasion of the Outlands and listens to him explain how he got his Scar and his plan to burn down the Pridelands which Njano smiles to. Later on, Scar sends the skinks to defeat the Lion Guard but Njano and the others are easily dispatched and what became of them afterward is uncertain.
