Biography

In the past in 2006, he invited all members of the swimming team after winning a championship. During the evening, Lahey and the teens got drunk and one of them threw Matt into the pool although he couldn't swim. Coach Lahey then pulled him out of the water and threatened him not to tell anyone about the incident and scolded him fiercely for being unable to swim. During his childhood and adolescence, Matt developed trauma from his drowning and deeply desired revenge on Lahey and the swim team.

In the present, he spotted Lahey and his son Isaac at the cemetery during questioning by Sheriff Stilinski. This discussion revolved around the attack Isaac suffered while working at the cemetery before meeting Derek Hale. He tells the sheriff that the desecration is regular and that a liver has been stolen. In the next episode, Isaac dines silently with his father. Lahey asked how his grades were in class and Isaac spoke about the good ones. His father then threatens him to continue the discussion in the basement and Isaac replies that he had a D on his last chemistry test. Lahey therefore replies that he is not angry but that he still has to punish Isaac.

He therefore asks her to do the dishes and Isaac answers yes, reassured. However, Lahey says he wants the kitchen to be spotless and tosses his mug which shatters into pieces and throws the plates all over the room. A piece of porcelain hurts the cheek of Isaac who annoyed him tells him that he could have made him blind but Lahey minimizes the injury and tells him that it is his fault. Suddenly, Isaac's wound disappears, shocking his father and Isaac flees. Lahey goes after him in the rain and looks for him in dark alleys. It is then that he sees the Kanima that he only notices when he takes off his glasses. Frightened, Lahey runs to his car but the creature tears off the door and slaughters the man.
