~ Mad Ben. |
Benjamin Kirby Tennyson, also known by his main alias Mad Ben is a major antagonist in Ben 10: Omniverse, serving as a minor antagonist in Season 5 and a major antagonist of Season 7.
He is an alternate and evil version of Ben Tennyson, who is the tyrannical warlord of a post-apocalyptic Earth and was mentored by Maltruant.
He was voiced by Yuri Lowenthal (who also voiced most of Ben Tennyson's counterparts).
Appearance
Mad Ben bears a strong resemblance to Ben Prime, but has an orange eye color instead of green and a darker skin tone. He also has a brown mohawk-styled hair. Mad Ben wears punkish, "Mad Max"-style clothing and has earrings on his right ear, markings under his eyes, and an orange Omnitrix with spikes.
Biography
Mad Ben first appeared in "And Then There Were None", he was one of six evil Ben counterparts (including Eon) who joined forces with Vilgax in order to kill No Watch Ben. Their attempt was stopped when Professor Paradox came and brought good counterparts of Ben to help No Watch Ben. Engaging in the fight, Mad Ben transformed into Rath and fought them. At the end of the episode, just like all the other Bens, he was erased from existence by the Chronosapien Time Bomb while trying to run away from it.
In the next episode he was brought back into existence by No Watch Ben as Clockwork then was sent back to his own Dimension while trying to chase Ben Prime with Albedo and Bad Ben.
In "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Ben World: Part 1", he is revealed to be the warlord of his Earth, changing Bellwood to Benwood. He enslaved many civilians, including Ben Prime, Ben 23, and Dr. Psychobos after they are accidentally transferred to his Earth to dig for the key that belongs to his mentor, Maltruant. After they find it, Maltruant abandons Mad Ben with the intent of restarting the Time War, leaving the other Bens and Psychobos to him. Despite of that betrayal, Mad Ben continues to force slaves to work more, even uses NRG to stop anyone who wants to overthrow him.
In "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Ben World: Part 2", he continues to slave-drive his oppressed people with the slim chance of finding more treasure. After Ben Prime and Ben 23 begin an uprising, Mad Ben transforms into Way Big in an attempt to destroy the dig site and everyone in it. However, he is soundly defeated by Ben Prime's Nanomech. He attempts to tell Mad Rook to capture Ben Prime and Ben 23 but is captured and overthrown by his former slaves, as they also disable his ability to use his Omnitrix by locking his wrists and taking him away.
Powers and Abilities
In fight, just like every other Bens, he relies on his Omnitrix.
Unlike his other counterparts, his fighting styles and the way he uses his Omnitrix is way more wild and violent, like a madman. The Aliens he chooses mostly have a lot of brute strength (Rath, Way Big, Diamond Head) or destructive abilities (Upchuck, NRG).
